I’ve been following REBECCA GREEN an her beautiful illustrations over on Instagram for a little while now, an wanted to share this talented artist here on the blog today. Her mixed media illustrations, combining everything from gouache, acrylics, colored pencils and even inks had caught my attention. Her fine detailing, organic color palettes, an female figurative work had also drawn me to her work but beyond this it’s no surprise I keep seeing her work constantly pop up on my Pinterest feed, it’s just so lovely. Oh how I love the art of James Jean! Love, love, LOVE his work. If you don't know of him you surely should. Do you know of the husband an wife duo knows as Apak Studio? I would hope so, but if not Aaron & Ayumi Piland are the talented artist behind the work featured today. Their mystical creations, painted from colorful gouache & acrylics explore a utopian land all their own. I love their little characters, which in their more recent works I love how it slightly depicts their little family of 3. To cute! I recently stumbled upon a painting titled "White Forest" (bottom right pictured below) by Joanne Nam and absolutely loved it! After hunting for a link to more of her work, I am just wowed by her pieces. She appears to work in oils on wood panelings and I am beyond impressed with the fine detailing, subject matter and muted color palettes she has chosen. There's no doubt that I really love hand lettering! I am do my fair share of doodling for personally projects, but by no means do I feel I can compare to some of the talent I see out there. Some people make it looks so natural an easy. Like this artist, Noel Shiveley is someone I'm inspired by. I have been following his work online for a bit and while writing this post I decided I should just start following his IG feed to keep up with it more, but would you look at this, Amazing! Not only do I love the lettering and his unique design style but I really love the quotes. I feel that quotes or uplifting words of inspiration really speaks to me, and these were among a few of his current pieces that I liked, but there are still so many more. Loving these sculptures by Philadelphia based artist Aj Fosik. Each piece is carefully handcrafted by arranging hundreds of pieces of wood that's been individually cut, varnished and painted in vibrant colors to create patterning an a overall subject matter. Highly influenced by American Folk Art, Fosik's work has become identified and sought after by both public galleries and private personal collections. BOOKS : PARDON ME BY DANIEL MIYARES

I graduated college a number of years ago with many talented artist, and Daniel Miyares was amongst them. He recently released this picture book, Pardon Me, whereby you can read along and find out how this cute little yellow bird wants nothing more than some peace and quiet but keeps being interrupted by guests. His beautifully illustrated book is now currently available thru Simon & Schuster publishing here an my kids really seemed to enjoy it. Russian illustrator Viktor Miller-Gausa was told by a friend that he couldn't create a caricature. Not only did he create one, he decided to challenge himself to drawing 31 days of portraits of his favorite celebrities & friends. The overall collection is quite impressive.
